Early Monday Crash Closes Butts Bridge Road During Early Morning Work Commute

At approximately 4:21 AM, 10/28/19, Monday, a 2019 Mack Truck was traveling south on Butts Bridge Rd in Canterbury, between Howe Road and Route 12, where the operator, 38 year old Sonely Rivera of Willimantic lost control of the Mack truck and went off the roadway on the southbound side and collided with a stone embankment causing moderate to severe damage to the truck and the large fuel leak.
Rivera was not injured in the accident. Traffic had to be diverted off of Butts Bridge Road to Howe Road which intersects with Route 12. Traffic was difficult passing through the narrow Howe Rd since large trucks which were en route to their work site traveling on Howe Rd. Butts Bridge Road opened up a short time afterwards.[adrotate banner="27"]
