Drug Bust from Motor Vehicle Stop In Plainfield

On September 7, 2016 at approximately 11:59 a.m., Members of the Plainfield Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Main Street and Milner Avenue in the Moosup village of Plainfield, Connecticut. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Dustin P. Stewart (w/m, DOB 9/3/1978) of 443 North Main Street in Plainfield and was operating a 2007 gray colored Cadillac STS. During the motor vehicle stop, Stewart was removed from his vehicle and a search of his vehicle and his person was conducted. Stewart was found to be in possession of eleven individually wrapped pre-packaged bags of cocaine and marijuana cigarettes. Stewart was subsequently arrested for being in possession of approximately 13.9 grams of cocaine.
A subsequent search at Stewart’s residence revealed him to be in possession of approximately 109.7 grams of cocaine and approximately 14.8 grams of marijuana.
Dustin P. Stewart was charged with (2 counts) of Possession of Narcotics, (2 counts) of Possession Of Narcotics with intent to sell, Possession of Narcotics within 1,500 feet from a school, Possession of Narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet from a school, Possession of Less than ½ ounce of Marijuana, Failure to obey a stop sign, and Failure to display a front marker plate.
The accused was placed on a $50,000 cash/surety bond which he was unable to secure and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on September 8, 2016.
