Drug Arrest on Canterbury Turnpike After Routine Traffic Stop

Early Saturday morning, at approximately 0113 hours Officer Briana Ramirez was conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Canterbury Tnpk. She observed an equipment violation on the accused’s vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The accused was identified as 21 year old Christer Laurore. Officer Ramirez smelled a strong odor of unburnt marijuana coming from within the vehicle. She subsequently located over 1.5 pounds of marijuana and packaging supplies hidden within Laurore’s vehicle and he was placed under arrest.
Laurore was placed under arrest and later released on a $2,500 non-surety bond: He was charged with the following:
Possession of Over 1/2 oz. of Marijuana Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Sell Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Operation of M/V with Headlamp Out
Officer Ramirez was conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Canterbury Tnpk as Norwich Police routinely fields complaints of speed violations.
