Yesterday, the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection made an alert for today and tomorrow. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is predicting poor air quality beginning today and continuing through Thursday. DEEP expects the state of the air to have an effect on all citizens, especially those with some sort of health condition that makes them more vulnerable. “We are expecting air quality that will impact all of our citizens especially the most vulnerable residents – children, the elderly and those with respiratory disease such as asthma,” Commissioner Robert Klee said in the alert. “It will also impact healthy adults working or exercising outdoors – to minimize health impacts while working outdoors avoid prolonged strenuous activity and best if you exercise before noon or after 8 pm.”
