Dayville Resident Shot in Face During Home Invasion

On New Year’s Eve at approximately 5:23 PM, Troop D Connecticut State Police in Danielson were notified by residents on Litchfield Ave in Killingly that someone had got “Shot in the face with a gun.” When Troopers arrived on scene at 34 Litchfield Ave, they were met by a victim who said they were downstairs and heard someone come into their home and confronted by 2 masked males, one of the masked men was armed with a handgun. The victim continued to say that an altercation ensued and he sustained a laceration to his right hand and his roommate was shot with a pellet below his right eye. One of the victims were treated by EMS on scene and was released. The victim with the gunshot wound was transported to Day Kimball Hopital for further treatment. The 2 male suspects fled with an unknown amount of cash, and while Troopers were investigating on scene, a metallic pellet pistol was recovered in the front yard of the residence.
While at the scene, a K-9 track was conducted and 2 juvenile suspects were taken into custody. One was 17, and the other was only 15 years old who also happens to be currently on juvenile probation.
Both juveniles were taken into custody on the charges of 1st degree Home invasion, 3rd degree assault, 1st degree burglary, 2nd degree assault, reckles endangerment, 1st degree robbery, 6th degree larceny, and breach of peace. The investigation is ongoing. Names of the suspects were not released due to their ages.
