The Ocean State Job Lot in Willimantic received $100 bills for payments which were later discovered to be counterfeit currency. The high quality reproductions were able to pass the counterfeit detector pen at the time of purchase. They had all of the necessary watermarks and color variations, but upon further examination by a bank, the bills were found to have a vertical security line which was too dark, the horizontal security line was crooked, and the 2 $100 bills had the same serial numbers. The Willimantic Police Department is investigating.
