Cote, Comeau Lead Lady Wildcats to ECC Softball Title

Norwich Free Academy got things moving in the first inning.  Sophia DiCocco singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

In the top of the second inning, Griswold  tied things up at one.  An error scored one run for The Wolverines.

Norwich Free Academy pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning.  In the third Bailey Comeau singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run and Hannah Dainewicz singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Norwich Free Academy scored three runs in the sixth inning.  Norwich Free Academy’s big inning was driven by a sac fly by Brooke Gottshall, an error on a ball put in play by Hailee Schrader, and a double by DiCocco.

Comeau was the winning pitcher for Norwich Free Academy. She surrendered two runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking none.

Julia Janca took the loss for Griswold. She lasted six innings, allowing 11 hits and six runs while striking out four.

Kamryn Gurnee, Kaelin Waldron, Cheyenne Zvingilas, Janca, Hailey Hill, and Hailey Bouchard each collected one hit to lead Griswold.

Norwich Free Academy had 11 hits in the game.  Sarah Cote reaches base 4 times with hits and a walk, DiCocco, Comeau, and Gottshall each had multiple hits for Norwich Free Academy.
