Coolidge Officially Charged For Death of Brother

On February 28, 2020 at approximately 10:20 AM detectives from the Plainfield Police Department made contact with Keith Theodore Coolidge (37 years old) at the State of Connecticut Superior Court in Danielson, Connecticut. Keith Theodore Coolidge, who was in custody for violating a protective order, was arrested on a warrant charging him with Manslaughter in the Second Degree and Strangulation in the First Degree.
The arrest stems from an incident occurring on December 19, 2019 in which the Plainfield Police Department responded to a camper trailer located on Community Avenue in Plainfield, Connecticut for a report of an unresponsive male. The unresponsive male, who was identified as the brother of the arrestee Keith Calvin Coolidge, was subsequently pronounced deceased on scene. First responders subsequently identified several injuries sustained by the deceased which were consistent with an altercation.
An extensive investigation ensued by the Plainfield Police Department with the assistance of the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime. It was determined by investigators that an altercation in fact had occurred between the two brothers which resulted in the death of Keith Calvin Coolidge. The deceased was later transported to the State of Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner at which point an autopsy was performed. The results from the autopsy revealed the cause of the death was due to compression of the neck. The manner was subsequently ruled as a homicide due to strangulation.
Keith Theodore Coolidge remained in the custody of the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections due to being unable to secure his $1,000,000 bond. Keith Theodore Coolidge was subsequently arraigned on February 28, 2020.
