Connecticut State Police Release Holiday Travel Stats

Ct State Police went into holiday enforcement mode last Wednesday.Through 7:00 AM on Sunday morning, The Connecticut State Police had approximately 6,183 calls for service, with 264 motorist assists. Troopers responded to approximately 405 accidents. Unfortunately, during this period we investigated two fatal motor vehicle accidents. The first one occurred on Thursday night in the town of Plainville, the second in Norwalk, Friday afternoon.
Troopers arrested 47 individuals for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Eight (8) of the aforementioned arrests stemmed from motor vehicle collisions that occurred on our roadways. Troopers issued 363 citations for speeding and 20 citations for seatbelts, issued 1,192 hazardous moving violations (to include: unsafe lane change, following too closely, move over, etc). These are reflective of the time period starting midnight on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 to 7:00 a.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019
