Connecticut State Police Perform Marijuana Eradication Sting in Pomfret

(Middletown – November 24, 2020) On September 29, 2020, at approx. 10:00am, Detectives from the Statewide Narcotics Task Force Northcentral and East Offices conducted a marijuana eradication operation in several towns in eastern Connecticut. SNTF Detectives were assisted by members of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Investigators converged on a marijuana grow operations where more than 80 plants were seized. The plants were fully mature and an average of 5 feet tall. In all instances, Detectives were able to identify the suspects growing the plants.

On November 23, 2020, Shawn Cook DOB 07/07/1964 was arrested after being identified as a cultivator of marijuana. Cook had 15 fully mature marijuana plants growing on his property at 54 Covell Road in Pomfret. Cook was released on a $10,000.00 Non-Surety Bond after being charged with Cultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Marijuana with intent to sell, and is scheduled to appear in GA-11 Danielson on 12/10/2020.
