Connecticut State Police Announce Results From New Year’s Enforcement

The Connecticut State Police supplemented the normal patrol force with additional State Troopers throughout the New Year’s weekend. The increased patrols began at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, 12/28/2018, and concluded at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, 01/01/2019.  Troopers enforced all motor vehicle laws and focused on reducing the number of DUI’s crashes and injury-producing accidents occurring on the interstates, state roads and local roadways. These State Police Stats cover the time period starting at 12:01 a.m. on 12/28/18 to 11:59 p.m. on 01/01/19.

Seat belts: 14  (2018) 20 (2017)

Accidents: 399 (2018)  494 (2018)

DUI Arrests: 36 (2018)  28 (2017)

Fatalities: 1 (2018)  2 (2017)

Total Calls for Service: 7657 (2018)  6885 (2017)
