Connecticut Officials Plans for Murder-Suicide Foiled

First Selectman Glenn Pianka of Bozrah, threatened to kill his wife and commit suicide, but was prevented from following through when his daughter returned home, to find him with a loaded pistol, and was unable to carry through on his threat.
Pianka mailed a letter to his wife and her relatives on March 18, describing his intent. Pianka and his wife were in the midst of divorce proceedings of a highly personal matter.
Pianka has been charged with threatening and other crimes. He posted $20,000 bail and is due in court on April 20.
