Central Village Man Arrested For Possession After Routine Vehicle Stop by Police

On 04/17/18 at approximately 4:17 PM a member of the Plainfield Police Department observed a black Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling off of Promenade Street onto High Street in the Moosup section of Plainfield, Connecticut. At that time the officer observed that the male operator was not wearing a seatbelt and initiated a motor vehicle stop on North Main Street. Upon making contact with the male operator he was identified as 61 year old Joseph Lombardy of Central Village. Lombardy’s residence was raided by the Plainfield Police Department on 04/04/18 and a narcotics search warrant was executed and Lombardy was subsequently arrested for various narcotic charges. During the interaction with Lombardy on the motor vehicle stop Lombardy was asked if he had anything in the vehicle and was asked to step out of the vehicle. Lombardy agreed to a search of the vehicle and while patting Lombardy down a small amount of crack cocaine was located in a cigarette pack on his person. Lombardy was placed under arrest for Failure to wear his safety belt, Failure to maintain minimum insurance on the vehicle, Failure to drive right and possession of Crack Cocaine. Lombardy will be presented at the Danielson Superior Court on 04/30/18.
