Car vs. Scooter Accident Sends Female to Hartford Hospital Via Life Star

On June 20, 2017 at approximately 1:13 P.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department along with members of the Atwood Hose Fire Department responded to the intersection of Front Street and North Chestnut Street for a reported 2 vehicle accident with injuries. Upon arrival, it was determined that a female operator was operating a 2005 Yamaha scooter traveling southbound on North Chestnut Street at the intersection of Fountain Street. While crossing that intersection impact was made with a 2015 Ford Focus operated by 41 year old Brian Messier who was traveling westbound on Front Street. The female operator was thrown from the scooter and sustained head trauma. The female was transported to Plainfield Backus Emergency Care by members of American Legion Ambulance to treat her injuries and was later transported by Life Star to Hartford Hospital. The female operator has yet to be identified by Plainfield Police but dispatch stated that the female was not a minor.
This accident remains under investigation.
