Car vs Pole Accident in Moosup Sends One To The Hospital

On May 5, 2020 at approximately 2:18 PM, Officers from the Plainfield Police Department along with members of the Moosup Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance responded to a one car motor vehicle crash into a utility pole on Starkweather Road in Moosup, CT.

A 2010 Ford Escape operated by 18 year oldĀ Riley Bergeron, 18, of Moosup, was traveling Northbound on Starkweather Road when the operator passed a vehicle ahead of it in a no passing zone at a high rate of speed and subsequently lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then went off the roadway to the right and struck a utility pole. Bergeron was later transported by members of the American Legion Ambulance to the Plainfield, CT Backus Hospital for possible injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
