On June 10, 2017 at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Plainfield Police Department, along with the Plainfield Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance, responded to the area of Norwich Road by Commercial Drive for a reported single car motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that 40 year old George Gadue of Plainfield was traveling southbound in a tan Pontiac Bonneville when he ran off the right side of the road striking a telephone pole, snapping the telephone pole causing power lines to cross Norwich Road.
Gadue and his passenger 40 year old Jessica Cramer were both transported to Backus Hospital in Norwich for possible injuries. Route 12 should be re-opened by this writing.
