On 08/31/2019 at approximately 8:18 PM the Jewett City Resident Trooper and Troop E personnel were dispatched to the Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank for a report of an SUV that had gotten stuck in the parking lot. The criminal investigation revealed that the operator of the involved vehicle, RYAN GOODYEAR, had attempted to park his vehicle at the Mobil gas station, but failed to put the vehicle in park. As he entered the convenience store, his vehicle rolled away into the Eastern Connecticut Savings Bank parking lot and struck a wooden fence. The operator later refused to submit to the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was taken into custody without incident.
