Canterbury Bank Robbed For The Second Time This Year

Canterbury, CT. (November, 2017): On November 22, 2017 at approximately 12:00 p.m., personnel from Troop D responded to the Savings Institute Bank located at 180 Route 14 in Canterbury for a bank robbery. It was reported that the bank had been robbed by a lone white male who displayed a weapon.
The suspect was described as a white male approximately 6’ in height and thin build. He was reported to be wearing blue jeans and a navy colored jacket with a hood. The suspect then left the store in an unknown direction. There were no injuries reported during this incident.
Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime also responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Troop D at 860-779-4900 or text TIP711 and the information to 274637. All calls/texts will remain confidential.
