Brooklyn Man Arrested Stemming From Sexual Assault Charges Related to a Minor

On September 17, 2017, the Eastern District Major Crime Squad (EDMC) and Troop D Troopers were assigned to investigate a reported sexual assault investigation that occurred on 91 Lake Rd, Killingly, which is the address for Valley View Stables. The victim who is now 19 years of age reported that when she was employed by Valley View Riding Stables she had been sexually assaulted by 43 year old Michael Sobieniak of Brooklyn, Ct. Ths victim indicated that when she was 14-15 years old, she had boarded her horse at Valley View Riding Stables and she began to work for Sobieniak to pay for expenses of boarding the horse. The victim explained that during that this time, Sobieniak had sexual intercourse with her at the Riding Stables, and at various locations in his vehicle while making deliveries throughout Connecticut. Detectives conducted a lenghty criminal investigation and applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Sobiniak for Sexual Assault 2nd Degree, Risk of Injury, and Illegal Sexual Contact. At noon on Monday was apprehended and processed. Sobieniak posted bond which was set at $75,000 and will be in Danielson Superior Court on Tuesday, December 5, 2017
