The Eastern District Major Crime Squad (EDMC) out out of Troop D as well as Patrol Officers from Troop D have been investigating several incidents dating back to 2014 relating to illegal hacking of cell phones and social media accounts as well as illegal distribution of personal pictures and information involving over 20 different juvenile and adult female victims. The investigation identified 25 year old Christopher Lamb of Brooklyn, Ct.
Lamb was able to hack victim’s phones, social media accounts as well as cloud storage to obtain sensitive photographs and personal information including contact lists. At that point, Lamb would then coerce and threaten the victims with disclosure of these sensitive pictures unless they agreed to send him nude photos of them. If the victims did not comply (which none of the identified victims did), he would send the photos to lewd web sites, members of their family and friends, and their employers as well. Lamb caused a great deal of pain, humiliation, anxiety, and personal loss to the victims.
With the assistance of the Windham County States Attorney Office in Danielson, an arrest warrant was granted for Christopher Lamb and was taken into custody on 51 charges including 4 counts of Promoting a Minor in an Obscene Performance for disseminating child pornography of victims under the age of 16, 4 counts of Importing Child Pornography for accessing the nude pictures from cell phones and cloud services of victims under the age of 16. Lamb was also charged with 20 counts of Computer Crimes and 11 counts of Dissemination of Intimate Images.
Lamb was held on $100,000 bond and was in court March 16, 2018 to answer to these charges.
