***BREAKING*** SPEEDING STOP TURNS INTO DRUG BUST

On March 26, 2016 at approximately 3:38 PM the Plainfield Police Department arrested 27 year old Jequon Francis of #15 Kinney Hill Rd Plainfield, CT. Francis was observed on East Sheperd Hill Rd traveling at an excessive speed and was subsequently stopped by a member of the Plainfield Police Department. During the course of the traffic stop Francis attempted to flee the scene on foot and was subsequently apprehended after a lengthy foot pursuit. During the course of the foot pursuit the pursuing Officer observed Francis discard several bags of heroin which were later retrieved.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle that Francis was operating, Officers located several crack cocaine rocks in addition to just under a quarter pound of marijuana.
Francis was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with 1500 feet of a school, possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine within 1500 feet of a school, possession of more than ½ oz of marijuana, possession of more than ½ oz of marijuana within 1500 feet of a school, interfering/resisting arrest and traveling unreasonably fast. Francis was held on $25,000 bond pending his arraignment in Danielson Superior Court on March 28, 2016.
