Arrests Made in MotorSports Nation Burglary In Plainfield

As a result of a lengthy investigation the Plainfield Police Department made three criminal arrests related to a residential burglary that occurred during the month of May 2016. In addition to the residential burglary arrests, police were able to connect the investigation with another investigation of a burglary at a local Plainfield business, MotorSports Nation, that also occurred in May 2016.

Back on May 16, 2016, a resident from Weston Rd in Plainfield reported the burglary in which two dirt-bike style motorcycles had been stolen from a locked garage along with other items during the overnight hours. Initial investigation determined that forced entry was made into the garage through a back door. Police were able to locate tire marks and shoe impressions believed to have been left behind by the perpetrator(s) in a nearby cornfield.

On May 23, 2016, during the investigation of the burglary at MotorSports Nation in which similar style motorcycles and other items were stolen during the overnight hours. During the initial investigation at the business, it was also determined that forced entry was made into the building and that several motorcycles and other property had been taken. Surveillance footage at the business showed two individuals concealing their identity inside the business during the early morning hours. In addition shoe and tire impressions were located along a trail behind the business. Through investigation officers were able to locate multiple stolen pieces of property in several towns in eastern Connecticut including Groton, New London, Montville, Norwich, and Ledyard.

After months of investigation the Plainfield Police Department obtained court issued arrest warrants for three individuals related to the residential burglary. On the strength of the arrest warrants the Plainfield Police Department arrested Jonathan M. Zadora (AGE 25) of North Windham, CT, on 01/06/2017. Zadora was charged with Burglary in the Third Degree, Larceny in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree along with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in the Third Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. Zadora was initially held on a court set $35,000 cash bond and was arraigned in the Danielson Superior Court on 01/03/17. Mariah J. Ellison (AGE 24) of Norwich, CT, was arrested on 01/09/2017 for Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in the Third Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the Third Degree. Ellison was initially held on a court set $15,000 cash bond and was arraigned in the Danielson Superior Court on 01/10/2017. Jordan A. Lanphear (AGE 21) of Norwich, CT. was arrested on 01/21/2017 for Burglary in the Third Degree, Larceny in the Third Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree along with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in the Third Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny. Lanphear is being held on a court set $35,000 cash bond pending his arraignment in the Danielson Superior Court on 01/23/2017.
