Two Moosup men were arrested on Wednesday March 9, 2016 on multiple charges stemming from a narcotics search and seizure warrant at 4 Talbot Avenue in the Moosup village of Plainfield as part of the on-going police investigation into the sale of illicit narcotics in the area.
Members of the Plainfield Police Department approached the residence of 4 Talbot Avenue traveling north on Talbot Avenue and while doing so observed the target of the investigation, 45 year old Jeffrey J. Dailey, driving a motor scooter south on Talbot Avenue towards the police entry and search team. Dailey recognized the members of the Plainfield Police Department and turned the motor scooter around directly in front of officers. Officers instructed Dailey to stop but he continued to drive away attempting to elude police. As Dailey approached the intersection of Talbot Avenue and Pond Street he crashed the motor scooter while attempting to make a right turn onto Pond Street. Dailey was again instructed by officers to stop but he fled on foot. Dailey was subsequently apprehended by Plainfield Police K-9 Vader and K-9 Officer Davidson. Dailey was found to be in possession of heroin pre-packaged for sale at the time he was apprehended. Dailey was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell, Interfering/Resisting Arrest, and Failure to Obey the Signal of an Officer. Dailey was held on a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Danielson Superior on March 10, 2016.
Dailey has been the subject of multiple narcotics investigations and convictions in the past. Most recently Dailey was placed on probation for a 2013 sale of narcotics conviction investigated by the Plainfield Police Department.
While executing the search and seizure warrant 33 year old Stephen Jordan of 2 Talbot Avenue was also found to be in possession of heroin. Jordan was charged with possession of heroin and placed on a $10,000 bond. Jordan is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court on March 21, 2016.
