All The Single Ladies….. Lady Wolverines Lead Attack With Base Hits to Advance In CIAC State Tourney

All the “single” ladies showed up for Griswold on Wednesday. Griswold, a team that will double and triple you to smithereens at times used a simple attack of base hits to defeat New Fairfield 12-0 on Wednesday. 11 out of Griswold’s 13 hits were singles on Wednesday. The only extra base hits were from Shay Sauvageau who had a couple of doubles, one of which led off the bottom of the first that started an 8 run Griswold onslaught. Griswold also got 3 in the 2nd inning and a single run in the 6th.
The Wolverines used 3 pitchers to get the win. Maya Waldron, Shyla Krick, and Julia Janca who pitched the last inning to close out the game.
New Fairfield, led by Mary Galucci, in her 20th year at the school, couldn’t muster much of an offense against Griswold although they defeated Kaynor Tech the previous day, 18-1. The Rebels could only manage 5 hits on Wednesday against Wolverine pitching
