On May 29, 2022 at approximately 2:50 P.M., members of the Plainfield Police Department responded to the area of Reservoir Street and Mill Street, Plainfield, CT, for a report of an evading motor vehicle crash.
Numerous 911 callers reported a green Ford F150 striking numerous parked vehicles. Callers reported the operator, a nude white male possibly with a weapon fleeing on foot towards the abandonedInterRoyal Mill located at 20 Reservoir Street. No injuries were reported.
Officers arrived in the area and immediately set up a perimeter. A tracking K-9 was requested to the scene.
Connecticut State Police Troop D K-9 handler and his K-9 Kasha arrived on the scene moments later and a track was conducted. The described male was subsequently located in the InterRoyal mill and taken into custody without incident. No weapon was located. The male was later identified as Ryan Vose, 23, of Plainfield.
While transporting, Vose became uncooperative and began to kick the cruiser window. Once at the Plainfield Police Department, Vose refused to exit the cruiser. In an attempt to gain control of Vose, department issued OC spray was deployed with no effect. Vose was removed from the cruiser where he continued to resist Officers throughout the booking process at one point slamming his head against the cell wall numerous times. Vose was transported to Backus Hospital, Norwich, CT for self-inflicted injuries.
Vose was later charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, Evading Responsibility, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating without a License, Operating without Insurance, and Interfering with Police.
Vose was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled to appear at the Danielson Superior Court, G.A. 11, on June 13, 2022.
