Jewett City Man Transported to Backus After Crashing Into Residence

On April 11, 2022, at approximately 9:13 PM, Plainfield Police, Plainfield Fire Department, and American Legion Ambulance responded to 59 Railroad Ave in Plainfield for the report that a pickup truck had crashed into a residence. A red Ford F-150 pickup operated by 49 year old Timothy Zatorski of Jewett City was traveling west on Canterbury Road and attempted to turn left onto Railroad Ave in Plainfield when Zatorski traveled off the roadway and crashed into the front porch of a residence at the address listed above. A portion of the porch and a vehicle that was parked in the residence’s driveway was damaged as a result of the crash. None of the residents were injured.

The Town of Plainfield building inspector also responded to the scene of the crash to investigate if the residence was still safe to occupy, and found that it was.
Zatorski was transported from the scene via ambulance to Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment of suspected injuries. Zatorski also had a passenger in the truck who was transported to Backus Emergency Care in Plainfield.
The accident remains under investigation with Plainfield Police.
