Police: Failure To Obey Traffic Signal Ends In 2 Car Collision

On December 16, 2018, at approximately 10:17 a.m., Officers from the Plainfield Police Department, along with the Moosup Fire Department and American Legion Ambulance responded to a two car motor vehicle crash on Prospect Street in Moosup, CT.

Tomas Murillo-Rodriguez, 47 years old, of Moosup, CT was operating a white 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling West on Prospect Street when he failed to obey the traffic control signal and subsequently collided with a 2012 Mazda 3. The operator of Mazda 3, Andrew Lemieux, 24 years old, of Norwich, CT was making a left turn onto Ward Avenue exiting the I-395 northbound exit 32 off ramp at the time of the collision.

Lemieux and his two passengers were transported to Norwich Backus Hospital for possible minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
