Multiple Dogs Die in Overnight Voluntown Fire

5 dogs died early this morning, when firefighters responded to a structure fire of a small building on Hodge Pond Rd in Voluntown. At approximately 1 AM this morning, the fire broke out in the kennel and the kennel had just about collapsed by the time responders arrived on the scene, It was reported that there was a heating pad inside the kennel to help keep the dogs warm, however the cause has yet to be determined and is still under investigation.

Voluntown Fire Department responded to the call.
