State Police Need your Assistance on Shooting at Ledyard Party

0b65f-connecticutstatepolice On Saturday 08-20-16 at approximately 2:30AM, Troop E Troopers responded to Backus Hospital in Norwich where there were two victims who walked into the Emergency Department suffering from gunshot wounds. A 24 year old female had an apparent gunshot wound to her left hand and a 21 year old male had an apparent gunshot wound to his right shoulder. Neither of the victims were considered to have life threatening injuries. State Police Eastern District Major Crime Detectives responded and assumed the investigation. Investigationled to a crime scene being located at a private residence on Shewville Rd of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in Ledyard. The scene was processed for evidence. Witness accounts described a large party in the basement of the house which resulted in a disturbance between partygoers. An unknown male brandished a semi-automatic weapon and fired one round which went through the female’s hand and into the male’s shoulder. The investigation is continuing by Detective Silvestri and any information about the crime can be reported to 860-848-6566
