19 Year Old and 2 Juvenile Accomplices involved in Home Invasion in Danielson

Just after midnight, July 25th, Troop E in Danielson received a call regarding a home invasion that happened at a residence on High St in Danielson. When Troopers arrived, they spoke to a 17 year old who stated the name of the accused, Devin Bonanno who he had known from school as well as a 2nd individual that he couldn’t identify since they were wearing a ski mask. They went into the victim’s bedroom and was able to steal $15 in cash, a machete, and his cell phone. The victim also stated that Bonanno had a gun at the time of the invasion. The 2 suspects left the residence without harming the 17 year old victim.
A second witness came forward as well and stated that the accused tried to make them open a large safe in his bedroom. The second witness also knew the accused from school.
State Police went to the accused’s home where they found Bonanno and within the investigation, admitted that he did go the victim’s home to rob them with two 16 year old juveniles. He also admitted to assaulting the victim, showing him the firearm and trying to force him to open the safe. Bonanno also gave the Trooper’s several pieces of evidence including the items that were stolen from the residence on High St, ski mask, and a black hooded sweatshirt. The juveniles that served as accomplices were arrested and issued summons to appear in juvenile court in Willimantic. Bonanno was arrested and held on $25,000 bond and was presented in Danielson Superior Court on Tuesday.
